A very quiet weekend as the athletics programme winds down before Christmas.
15 City of York Junior athletes (3 x U13 girls, 8 x U15 girls and 4 x U15 boys) were in action at the EIS in Sheffield at the weekend in the South Yorkshire Indoor Series. There were a lot of very good performances and plenty of PB’s flying around. Pick of the bunch was Louis How who ran a 55.78 400m PB to win the race and set a new club record.
Well done to everyone involved.
19 of our members did parkrun over the weekend with four of our runners achieving first places. Tim Stratton and Isabel Nicholls both came first at Easingwold in times of 17.13 and 22.06 respectively. Coincidently this was the second week in a row that Tim Stratton had won at Easingwold in 17.13. Gianluca Mastrolonardo had another win at Dalby Forest in 17.53 with his mum also being first female. It was good to see James Tucker back in action at Heslington as he came 3rd in 16.11. Kyle McLeay followed on from his 3rd place the previous week with a PB of 17.09 on the Knavesmire. Lottie Langan dominated the York junior parkrun as she crossed the line in 1st place over a minute ahead of the next runner.
