Off Track Distance Races

Senior teams from the club took part in the National Road Relays which took place last Saturday at Sutton Park in Birmingham in an event that brings together the country’s top clubs.

The women’s team built on their fine performance in the Northern Championships to finish in 20th place. Katy Wood again led the team off by coming 23rd on the 1st leg covering the 4.33k leg in 14.59. The men came 49th with Angus McMillan having a good run on the extremely competitive first leg. McMillan’s time of 17.14 for the 5.85k which turned out to be the 19th fastest time of the day. The club sent their better runners out on the opening legs and slowly dropped back through the field to eventually finish just inside the top 50.
