The club had a great day at the second meeting of the West Yorkshire Cross Country League that was held over a muddy and slippery course at Guiseley. Across the 10 races the club had 42 runners taking part and had 5 individual winners and 4 wins in the team events.

Senior Men – 1st team – GB triathlete Sam Dickinson made a rare appearance for the club to win the race, Sam pulled away from Joe O’Brien, who came 3rd, halfway round the last lap. Alex Dickinson (11th) finished one place ahead of tim Strtton in 12th whilst Tommy Shaw (23rd) just held off James Tucker in 26th. Steve Asquith (31st), Mark Cage (32nd), Ben Thompson (46th), Ed Mezzetti (80th) and Mike Raynes (116th) also ran.

Therese Jansson came 48th, Alex Tetley made a very unusual discipline change from Javelin throwing to cross country running to come 51st, Katie Brennan made her debut in the senior race to come 54th with Karen Wood coming 62nd.

Under 17 Men – 1st team – Lucas Stabler in 3rd and Ed Brown in 4th led the club home with Luis How completing the team in 11th place.

The club had a good turn out in this race with Kaitlin Keens (15th), Ellie Johnson (16th), Martha Sigsworth (18th), Katie-Ann Vatga (22nd), Georgia Bell (29th) and Anna Proctor (33rd) also running.

Under 13 Boys – Daniel Campbell won the race comfortably. Connal Cairns came 13th but the lack of a third runner meant that the club didn’t finish a team in this age group.

Under 13 Girls – 2nd team – Lucy Gilbertson (5th), Nina Hopkins (8th) and Isabel Madden (9th) all packed well but were beaten into 2nd place in the team race by Wakefield. Kate Setchell (15th) and Annabelle Coxon (18th) also ran.
