Off Track Distance Races
The club had another good day at the second meeting in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League that was held at Wakefield on Sunday. The club won both team events in both the under 17 and under 15 age groups whilst coming 2nd in both team events in the under 13 age group. The senior women also came a creditable third in their team event.
Lottie Langan and Jessica Robertson-Dover came 1st and 3rd in the under 17 women’s race as just seven seconds separated the first three runners. Lucas Stabler finished second in the under 17 men’s race. The club had ten runners in the under 15 girls race with Isabel Madden leading the team home in 3rd place. Isaac Stabler is slowly getting his best form back in the under 15 boys age group as he took 2nd place ahead of William Keens who was 3rd. In the under 13 age races Ollie Wright and Aimee Keefe both took 3rd places.
The senior women were led home by Chrissie Dover who came 12th overall and 2nd Vet 40. Following on from his personal best time in the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k there was another good run from Mark Bolland-Cage in the senior men’s race as he led an incomplete team home in 13th place.
James Tucker was just one second outside his PB with 14.57 in Friday night’s Barrowfield 5k.
The club had 12 runners doing parkrun on Saturday. There were 2nd places for Isaac Bastow (17.44) at Keswick and Alice Gilday (22.26) at Goole.
