Weekly Round up – w/e 19th February

In the UK Indoor Championships at Birmingham, Scott Lincoln won the shot with a very good throw of 20.36m – his 15th UK Championship win. Lucy Hadaway was 2nd in the Long Jump, with 6.56m and a very good series of jumps, and Chelsea Walker had a good run in the 60m hurdles.

The PECO cross country at South Leeds had lovely conditions and a testing course with long hills. William Keens won the secondary age race with a strong well judged run, and James Bastow had a very good run to be 3rd Under 13. Our girls were very strong in depth with Isobel Madden 3rd, Kaitlin Keens 4th, Kate Setchell 8th, Hannah Lovett 9th (and 2nd Under 13), Lydia Scott 12th out of the 52 girls.

On Friday night Tommy Shaw ran a PB of 14.54 in the Battersea Park 5k road race.

The club had 14 runners doing parkrun over the weekend. Gianluca Mastrolonardo went one better than last week as he came 1st on the Knavesmire in 16.28. William Keens completed the first of two wins over the weekend as he won at Easingwold in 17.28. Mike Raynes came 3rd at East Park in Wolverhampton in 19.29. The fastest female parkrunner from the club was Chrissie Dover in 20.27 as she came 4th at Heslington.
