The club had a very successful weekend at the County Track and Field Championships. Well done to all our athletes and coaches as well as the club officials who helped organise the event.
76 athletes attended County Championships.65 medals won 32 Gold, 20 silver and 13 Bronze.

Tommy Shaw took 20 seconds off his 3000m PB when he ran 8.17.65 at Birmingham on Wednesday.
Road Running
After the perfect running conditions for the first race in the York 10k Road Race League at Tadcaster the weather goods certainly decided to settle scores with runners in the second race of the series at Pocklington on Tuesday night! The race started in a thunder storm with runners having to splash their way through deep puddles and streams of water coming down the road with times inevitably being a bit slower. Jason Reubenheimer was again the first runner home in 16th place with 36.31. Alan Brown (37.58), Ben Thompson (38.24), Allan Scott (39.33), Mike Raynes (39.45) and Steve Wright (41.18) made up the team which improved on its performance in the first race by coming 5th. Chrissie Dover was the first female runner home from the club in 42.27 as she came 4th vet 35 and 8th overall. Karen Wood was again the first vet 55 in 45.58.
In the latest 5k race in the York University 5k series on Friday night Miles Watson (17.58) and Sam Dickinson (17.59) just finished inside the 18 minute barrier.
Millie Wright Charity 5k – to support the Charity run by the family of Millie, a former junior member. The family are very appreciative of our help with the run and talk warmly of her time with the club. Luca How, better known as a sprinter, won the 5k in 19m 16. James Bastow was 3rd (first Under 15) in 21.01, and Hannah Lovett 4th and first lady in 21.11. Also Sonny Love 23.50 and Jack Gover 24.11 in their first 5k runs.
Alfie Ryan displayed incredible versatility as he came 7th under 18 finisher in 41.11 in the Beverley 10k the day after he won the under 17 Humberside 400m title in 54 seconds. Paul Moulton did his 2nd 10k in a week with 61.38.
Therese Jansson made a very long detour from her summer track season as she ran the Gothenburg Half Marathon in 1.42.14.
With the Yorkshire Track and Field Championships taking place over the weekend there were fewer club members doing parkrun than normal. Steve Wright (19.38 at Whitby) and Lydia Scott (22.39 at Heslington ran the fastest of the club’s times. Bethany Ellerker was the first girl at the York Junior parkrun in 8.55.
