The 4th race in the York 10k Road Race League took place on Tuesday night on the Knavesmire. Cool weather and only a slight breeze helped runners to fast times on the very flat three and a bit lap course. James Wiesby is quickly returning to fitness as he led the club home in 10th place in a time of 34.36 as he led home a team comprising Ben Thompson (37.10), Alan Brown (37.34), Allan Scott (38.03), Tim Pattison (38.10) and Mike Raynes (39.07) to come 6th in the team race. Karen Wood was the only female runner from the club taking part as she sealed the Vet 55 league title with her 4th win in a row with a time of 44.16. Dave Lancaster came 3rd Vet 60 with a time of 42.07. The next race in the series is the hilliest of the series at Bugthorpe on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds.
