Middle Distance Track Racing

Well done to Lottie Langan who got a bronze medal in last weekend’s English Schools Track and Field Championships. Lottie took six and a half seconds off her PB as she ran 4.28.62 to run her best performance of the season when it mattered most.

Alex Botterill ran 1.48.74 in the 800m in the latest BMC meeting at Watford on Saturday. Angus McMillan ran 3.48.38 in the 1500m with Tommy Shaw falling with 200m to go in his race as he crossed the finish line in 4.05.85. Declan Neary, back at the club after spending time in the USA, ran 8.26.47 in the 3000m.

Mark Bolland-Cage ran a PB of 9.07.45 at Trafford last Tuesday for 3000m with Archie Lawson running 1.54.06 for 800m at the same meeting.

Road Racing

Dave Lancaster was the 2nd Vet 65 in 44.12 at the Harrogate 10k that also doubled up as the Yorkshire Veterans 10k Championships.

18 members of the club did parkrun over the weekend. There were first places for James Tucker on the Knavesmire (15.35), William Keens at Easingwold (17.11), William Hardy at Wetherby (18.31), Chrissie Dover at Perry Bar, Birmingham (20.35) and Charlotte Mason celebrated her 30th birthday by coming 1st at Skipton in 18.25. Bethany Ellerker was the first girl across the line in the York Junior parkrun in 8.21.
