Track and Field

The club came 3rd in the Northern League pay off match that involved the top two teams from each of the three regional divisions from the northern region.

Road Running

Angus McMillan broke the club record for parkrun on Saturday by 15 seconds as he scorched round the Knavesmire in 14.34. He also beat the previous course record on the Knavesmire by 3 seconds. There were 4 other first places achieved by members of the club. Ben Thompson had his first ever parkrun win at Heslington in 18.00 whilst Mike Raynes rolled back many years in winning at Ashington in 20.00. Two juniors also got first places as William Keens (20.23) and Lydia Scott (21.56) won at Easingwold and Heslington respectively.

William Hardy was the first junior at the latest race in the York University 5k series on Friday night as he ran 16.50. James Bastow (20.02) and Hannah Lovett (20.33) also ran.

Following on from his parkrun win on Saturday Ben Thompson ran 1.20.50 in the Vale of York half marathon on Sunday that was held near Sherburn in Elmet. Steve Wright (1.32.24) also took part in this race. Julie Mastrolonardo (1.47.12) and Jon Blake (1.48.04) took part on the famous Great North Run on Sunday.
