Katy Wood broke the course record in the popular York 10 miles race that was held on Sunday in conjunction with the York Marathon. Katy’s time of 56.53 took just over two minutes off the previous course record. Adam Bateman continued his good form as he took a chunk off his PB with 53.48 to come 9th. Tim Pattison (61.42), Allan Scott (63.45), James Belch (74.12), Karen Wood 3rd vet 55 in 74.31, Peter Hanson (84.59) and Joe Brown (85.02) also ran. Jason Reubenheimer ran an impressive 2 hours 43 minutes and 39 seconds to come 38th in the Marathon.

In Friday’s 5k race on the York University cycle circuit William Hardy’s improvement continued as he ran 16.32. Kate Setchell (19.14) narrowly finished ahead of Isobel Madden (19.22) as they came 2nd and 3rd juniors. Hannah Lovett (20.12) got the better of dad Nick (21.09) with James Bastow (18.51) also running.

In the Sunday’s Scarborough 5k, that was held with the 10K, Imogen Brown was 2nd girl in 21.10.

Dave Lancaster came 2nd vet 65 in the Holmfirth 10k in 44.31.

The club had 11 runners taking part in parkrun over the weekend. William Keens (17.43 at Easingwold) and Julie Mastrolonardo (22.06 at Dalby Forest) added to their many first places. Alice Gilday (22.07 at Selby) and Mike Raynes (20.40 at Dumfries) both came 3rd.  There were junior age group wins for Josh Reid and Wilson Moisey-Smith and veteran age group wins for Dave Lancaster, Steve Wright and Jon Blake. Josh Reid also came 3rd in the York Junior parkrun in 8.48.
