Road Running
Charlotte Mason came 4th in the Brass Monkey Half Marathon that was held in York in Sunday in a time of 1.16.46 to continue her good record in this race. Charlotte’s time also improved her own club record by 14 seconds. Mark Bolland-Cage had a considerable step up in distance for a middle distance track runner to run a big PB of 1.14.06 with partner Simon making his debut for the club in 1.16.16. There were also good runs from Josh Breen (1.18.36) and Ben Thompson (1.19.55) who managed to get round in under the 80 minutes barrier. Tim Pattison (1.25.45), Alan Brown (1.35.31), Peter Hanson (1.36.03), Jon Blake (1.38.09) and Joe Brown (1.53.28) also ran.
Angus McMillan came 8th in the London Cross Challenge on a novel course at Parliament Hill that included runners running through a marquee as well as the usual hills, sharp corners and mud.
James Tucker and Lottie Langan both ran one of the top ten fastest parkruns in Britain last weekend as they ran 15.26 and 17.22 at the Knavesmire and Heslington respectively. Lydia Scott (20.39) and Emily Rycroft (20.46) came 2nd and 3rd at Heslington. There was a good run from 13 years old James Bastow who came 4th at Easingwold in 20.09 in an event where most of the runners are adults. Noah Stipetic (8.17) and James Hodgkinson (8.46) came 1ts and 3rd in the York Junior parkrun.
