Road Running and Off Track Distance Races
The final race in the York 10k Road Race League took place on the flat Wistow course last Tuesday. Although the course is as flat as the one on the Knavesmire a troublesome headwind in the second half slowed runners down.

Karen Wood completed a clean sweep of wins in the vet 55 age group with 43.05. It was also good to see Rachael Bruford break 50 minutes for the first time with 49.15.
In the men’s race Steve Wright, who was first vet 60 on the night with 40.15, Dave Lancaster and Jon Blake ran well enough to be the first three vet 60s in the series. Jack Ford led home the senior men’s team to 8th place in the team race with 37.11.
Dave Lancaster was 3rd vet 65 overall and 2nd in the Yorkshire Veteran Championships in the Halifax 10k on Sunday in a time of 44.02.
