Weekly round up – w/e 29th September

Road Racing

Sophie Cogan ran 3.02.17 in Sunday’s Berlin Marathon. Sophie showed good pace judgement as she passed halfway in 1.32.13 before picking up the pace slightly in the later stages to run the 2nd half in 1.30.04.

Chrissie Dover came 1st female and 3rd person overall in the 20 mile race that was held on the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Chrissie ran 2.27.56 as she prepares for next months Yorkshire Marathon that is held in York.

Parkrun

22 runners from the club did parkrun over the weekend. Isaac Stabler broke the club under 17 parkrun record that has stood for nearly ten years as he ran 15.55 to come 3rd on the Knavesmire. Lottie Langan aslso ‘tempo’ed’ a 1st place on the Knavesmire with 17.54. William Keens again won at Easingwold in 17.36 with India Ibbotson coming 2nd at the same event in 22.14. Lucy Davey also came 2nd at Keswick in 19.48. There were junior age group wins for George Ghosh, Isla Watson, Sebastian Brown, Bethany Ellerker and William Hardy with veteran age group wins for Dave Lancaster, Jon Blake, Allan Scott and Julie Mastrolonardo. Noah Stipetic and Marianne Lowson were the first two runners across the line in the York junior parkrun.
