Cross Country Racing
The club had another good day in the second meeting in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League that was held over the hilly Wakefield course on Sunday.
Katy Wood dominated the senior women’s 5.5k race to win by nearly a minute. Niamh McLoughlin (4th), Jessica Robertson-Dover (5th) and Charlotte Grieve (6th) all packed well to see the club home to an emphatic team win for the second meeting in a row. Therese Jansson was 2nd vet 35 with Julia Mastrolonardo 3rd vet 55. Simon Bolland-Cage led home an incomplete men’s team home in 12th place with Jon Blake being 2nd vet 60, the day after he took half a minute off his parkrun PB.
Charlie Fielding in 2nd and Sam Dickinson in 4th ensured the club won the under 17 men’s team race with host club Wakefield denying the club an under 17 double as they pushed the club’s under 17 women’s team into 2nd place.
Beth Lewis won the under 15 girls race by just over 100 metres with the club winning the team event. James Bastow came 5th in the under 15 boys race. Scarlet Bycroft came 2nd in the under 11 girls race with Luke Holden coming 4th in the equivalent boys race.
The 3rd race in the League takes place at Middleton Park in Leeds on Sunday 10th November.
Road Racing
Lucy Davey came 6th in the Leeds University 5k in 19.17.
Parkrun
17 members of the club did parkrun over the weekend. Dan Cheeseman came 1st at Whitby in 16.56 with Tim Pattison also coming 1st at Northwich in 19.38. India Ibbotson came 3rd at North Yorkshire Water Park in 22.54. There were veteran age group wins for Allan Scott, Steve Wright, Peter Hanson and Gary Ibbotson with junior age group wins for Noah Stipetic and Josh Reid. Noah Stipetic also came 3rd in the York Junior parkrun.
