Weekly Round up – w/e 3rd February

Indoor Track and Field

A small group went to the Northern Indoor U15, 13 Indoor at Sheffield, and had a very successful day.

Juliette Callau won the 60 hurdles with a very impressive pb 9.13, and high jumped a pb of 1.50m to finish 2nd.  And 3rd in the high jump was first year U15 Imogen Bind with 1.45m. Esme Lee won the Under 13 200m, with Nattida Chaibamrung 3rd in that race and also 3rd in the Long Jump. Florence Meek reached the Final of the 60m and 200m, from big entries, and facing 5 races in the day. Murray Barnard took over 1 second off his 200 pb, to run 25.76. And a pb in the 200 for Agnes Michelon, and Imogen Brown 2nd in her 800m heat.

On Sunday Alex Botterill opened his indoor season by running 3.49.17 for 1500m in the Scottish Indoor Meeting at Glasgow.

Cross Country Racing

Several members of the club took part in the British Universities Cross Country Championships that took place in Cardiff on Saturday. Gianluca Mastrolonardo was the leading runner from the club in the men’s A race as he came 30th with Oskar Fraser-Krauss coming 118th and Lucas Stabler 149th in the same race. Ellie Rainbow was first home from the club in the women’s A race as she came 43rd with Niamh McLoughlin finishing 62nd, Jessica Robertson-Dover 100th, Martha Calton_Seal 101st, Jodi Bemand 106th and Lucy Gaskin 258th.  In the B races Tommy Shaw was 11th, Charlie Wright 128th and Ed Brown 180th.

Road Racing

Simon Bolland-Cage ran 31.50 to come 9th in the Dewsbury 10k with Gavin Bannister running 38.49 in the same race. Dave Lancaster was 1st vet 65 in the hilly Blackburn 10k in a time of 45.53.

Parkrun

Chrissie Dover took two seconds off her own vet 45 club record at parkrun as she ran 19.18 to9 come 1st at Heslington. Dan Cheeseman ran a fast 15.45 to win at Fountains Abbey. India Ibbotson coming 2nd at Goole in 22.15 with William Keens coming 2nd at Easingwold in 17.03. There were veteran age group wins for Dave Lancaster, Gary Ibbotson, Steve Wright and Julie Mastrolonardo with junior age group wins for George Ghosh, Lydia Scott and Wilson Moisey-Smith. Noah Stipetic came 1st in the York Junior Parkrun.
