Weekly Round up – 20th April

Distance Races

Easter sees two popular running festivals in the Isle of Man and Guernsey. James Tucker came 9th overall in the Isle of Man with 32.20 in the 10k, 19th in the hill race and 15.30 for the 5k. Dave Lancaster ran 21.43 for the 5k but the other results weren’t available.

Chrissie Dover was 1st female by a long way and 5th overall in the Yorkshire Wolds Ultra. Chrissie covered the 31.5 miles in 4 hours 35 minutes.

Dave Paver ran 65.41 in the Helmsley 10k trail race.

Parkrun

There was another large turnout of 27 runners from the club at parkrun on a sunny Saturday morning. Harriet Brown came 1st at Heslington in 21.08 with sister Imogen coming 3rd in 21.42. Marianne Lowson came 1st at Asparatia in 20.26 with Indie Proudlove also coming 1st at Dalby Forest in 20.42. William Keens suffered a rare reversal at Easingwold as he came 2nd in 17.25 with Lucy Davey coming 2nd at Harrogate in 21.15. Ben Walker came 3rd at Exeter in 18.33. There were junior age group wins for Rafael Palmer, Sienna Newcombe, Isla Watson, Sebastian Brown and Juliet Horne with veteran age group wins for Jon Blake, Julie Mastrolonardo, Dave Lancaster and Rachael Bruford.
