Scott Lincoln competed in the World Athletics Championships in Eugene. Scott threw 19.97m to come 8th in his heat which wasn’t enough to progress to the final.
Angus McMillan ran a PB of 14.13.12 for the 5000m on Saturday at the BMC meeting at Trafford, which was narrowly outside the club record of 14.10.04. Katy Wood ran 4.30.59 for 1500m and Megan Ledden 2.20.67 for the 800m at the same meeting.
Off Track Distance Races
15 of our members did parkrun over the weekend. With the Heslington event being cancelled Steve Asquith had to travel to Selby to get his weekly parkrun win, which he did in 17.08. Peter Hanson also broke 20 minutes for the first time with 19.59 at Selby. Chrissie Dover ran a very good 20.09 at Beverley which was the 5th fastest female time on the undulating grass course. Jessica (21.03) and Sophie Robertson-Dover (21.32) came 2nd and 3rd at this parkrun with Sophie’s time being the fastest in the 11-14 age group for this event. William Keens (17.45) and Isaac Bastow (17.51) came 2nd and 3rd at Easingwold behind Jordan Howe who won the York 10k Road Race League. Kaitlin Keens (22.56) came 3rd at Easingwold whilst Mike Raynes (19.44) came 2nd at Utoxeter.
