The club had 5 athletes at the England Athletes U15/U17 Championships this weekend in Bedford.
Nancy Marshall – 100m – U15
Lottie Langan – 1500m – U17
Isabel Dalton – Long Jump – U15
Rosie Hickling – 80m hurdles – U17
Olivia Tweddle – 75m hurdles – U15
The club came 3rd in the Senior regional play off final that was held at Doncaster on Saturday. The club finished behind Blackburn and West Cheshire.
Alex Botterill ran 1.47.57 for 800m in the BMC meeting at Loughborough on Saturday with Megan Ledden running 2.16.37 for the same distance. Tommy Shaw ran a PB of 3.55.87 at Loughborough which followed on from his 3.56.10 at Stretford on Tuesday night. Katy Wood ran 4.28.32 at the Stretford meeting.
Off Track Distance Races
Steve Asquith came 3rd Vet 40 and 6th overall in the latest race in the Yorkshire Veterans trail series at Bradford last Tuesday with Mike Raynes coming 2nd Vet 45 and 31st overall. Unfortunately both of them missed out on their prize as they missed the prize giving ceremony!
12 of our runners did parkrun at the weekend. William Keens broke the course record at the York junior parkrun by 6 seconds with 6.19. Kaitlin Keens ran 7.37 to set the 3rd fastest time by a girl at the same event. This followed on from their double win at Easingwold parkrun the day before. Steve Asquith picked up his weekly win at Heslington in 17.55 whilst Bethany Ellerker ran 9.35 to come 2nd in the York junior parkrun. Emily Rycroft took a break from her holiday as she came 4th in Jersey parkrun in the Channel Islands in a time of 22.14
