Off Track Distance Races

Seven of the club’s athletes ran in the London Mini Marathon on Saturday. This event is by selection only and incorporates the British Athletics Road Running Championships. It is held over the final 2.6k of the London Marathon course with junior runners enjoying the same finish in the Mall that the marathon runners get the following day. Ollie Wright was the leading finisher from the club as he came 15th in the under 13 race in a time of 8.47. In the under 13 girls race Nina Hopkins came 37th in 9.45 with Aimee Keefe 46th in 9.58. Isaac Stabler came 57th in 8.40 and William Keens 59th in 8.44 in the under 15 boys race. Lucas Stabler came 45th in 7.56 and Lottie Langan 46th in 9.11 in the under 17 races.  

Daniel Campbell came 6th in the year 8 and 9 age group of the English Schools Fell running championships that were held at Giggleswick School near Settle on Saturday.

The club had 13 runners doing parkrun over the weekend. James Tucker came 1st on the Knavesmire in 15.49 as part of a longer tempo session. Isaac Bastow also came 1st at Easingwold in 18.17. Chrissie Dover was the fastest female parkrunner from the club in 23.10. Meanwhile Mike Raynes completed his 200th different parkrun visited at Conwy in North Wales. Hannah Lovett was the first runner across the line in the York Junior parkrun in a time of 7.57.
