Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to all our members, coaches, officials and parents we hope you had a good festive holiday.
There was some athletics actions this week as 27 of our members did parkrun on Christmas Eve. Charlotte Mason and Katy Wood were both inside the old club record at parkrun with Charlotte running 17.03 and Katy 17.13 on the fast Knavesmire course. At the same event Tommy Shaw’s time of 15.15 was the 2nd fastest for the club after Sam Dickinson’s time of 14.49. At Heslington Chrissie Dover set a Vet 40 club record by running 18.51. Other leading finishes were obtained by Amy Kennedy 1st at Temple Newsam in 20.58, Jessica Robertson-Dover 2nd at Heslington in 19.27, Gianluca Mastrolonardo 2nd at Dalby in 16.57, William Keens 3rd at Easingwold in 18.01 and Julie Mastrolonardo 3rd at Dalby in 22.11.
There was also a second helping of parkrun on Christmas Day. There were 7 runners from the club amongst the huge field of 581 runners on the Knavesmire with Steve Asquith being first home from the club in 18.32 for 9th place.
