Off Track Distance Races

16 runners from the club went to Blackburn to do the Northern Cross Country Championships on a tough course that was hilly with some muddy patches.

Lottie Langan came 3rd in the under 17 women’s race with a determined finish to hold off the 4th placed runner from Rotherham. Jessica Robertson-Dover came 26th and Katarina Savkovic 48th also ran in this race.

In the other junior races Aimee Keefe came 9th and Nina Hopkins 19th in the under 13 girls race, Isabel Madden came 22nd, Sophie Robertson-Dover 24th and Kate Setchell 56th in the under 15 girls race. In the male junior races Tommy Shaw came 10th (under 20) and Daniel Campbell 45th (under 15).

Gianluca Mastrolonardo (5th in 16.18) and Lucas Stabler (6th in 16.29) made up the top 6. Elsewhere Joel Taylor came 1st at Heslington in 15.55 with William Keens coming 1st at Easingwold in personal best time of 17.06. The fastest female parkrunner from the club was Julie Mastrolonardo with 21.33 on the Knavesmire. Hannah Lovett was the first runner across the line in the York Junior Parkrun in a time of 7.47.
