Weekly Round up – w/e 12th February

Track and Field

In the England Athletics Indoor Championships (which includes Scottish and Welsh athletes) Lottie Langan ran a superbly judged race to win the U15 1500, with a sprint off the last bend (and it is only a short finishing straight).

Will Reid also had a great result to finish 2nd in the Long Jump, with 6.78m his second best ever jump. Cole McAndrew finished 4th in the 800m, improving his pb from last summer by 3 seconds to 1m 58. Kathryn Clague had a good result to finish 5th in the shot.

This is a very high standard event, and there were very good performances in the heats for Esme Pounder, Olivia Tweddle, Rosie Hickling in the hurdles, and Isabel Dalton in the 60m. Excellent results for all ours who entered and took on the challenge at a higher level despite the lack of opportunity to train indoors.
