Track and Field
The club staged a small meeting on Sunday, which went very well thank you to all our officials and helpers.
On the day that Katarina Johnson Thompson won the World Heptathlon, we staged our Pentathlon event for young athletes, with Lucy Gilbertson, Sophia Horsfall-Samb and Elliott Moon sharing the winning day with Katarina. It was a great introduction / experience of combined events for all who entered. Juliette Callau set a club record in the 70 hurdles, having previously beaten it with a wind assisted time she has added a wind legal record as well.
Other club winners (apart from events of 1 entrant) were Daniel Campbell (hurdles), Nathaniel Wade (75 and 150), Chris Cook (para 100, long jump, shot), Will Reid (100 and discus),Rowan Whittaker (100 and 200), James Bastow (1200), Otto Kearns (hammer), Bryce Farmer-Beasley (hammer and discus), Archie Clark (shot), Lily Craske (100), Lucy Boot (200), Sophie Robertson-Dover (1500), Imogen Brown (1200), Fleur Farmer-Beasley (shot), Willow Goor (high jump, long jump), Tabitha Speight (long jump)
Four members ran PBs at the Trafford open meeting last Tuesday. Cole McAndrew (1.54.02), Lucas Stabler (1.55.51) and Edan Petrie (1.57.37) all ran PBs over 800m whilst Ed Brown ran a PB of 4.08.74 in the 1500m. Lottie Langan also ran 2.12.62 in the 800m.
Road Running
Steve Wright was the first vet 60 in Sunday’s Escrick 10k in a time of 42.52.
Julie Mastrolonardo came 2nd in the Dalby Forest parkrun in 21.31 with William Keens coming 2nd in the Easingwold parkrun in 17.39.
