Talia Northcott achieved a pentathlon PB of 3271 pts placing her 9th in the UK. She achieved an equal PB in 60m hurdles of 9.20s
Both athletes helped the England u15 girls team to place 1st out of the whole competition making them the best u15 girls pentathlon team in the Uk. Thanks to the amazing coaches who’ve helped these athletes reach their full potential. The whole training squad is so proud of you both and can’t wait to see what the 2025 season brings.
Cross Country
32 of our youngsters went to the first PECO race at a lovely setting and great conditions at Temple Newsam. They included many new or “lapsed” to racing. It is one of the hilliest courses courses around, so great experience for all that we don’t have to train on in York.
The Primary Age race had 250 runners, and a frantic pace throughout. Scarlet Bycroft was 4th girl, Harper Newcombe 8th, and 4 “younger sisters” did their first cross country race and coped well and enjoyed it.
The secondary age had 177 runners. James Bastow was an excellent 4th behind 3 older boys. Oscar Walker 12th, George Ghosh 20th, Wilson Moisey-Smith 23rd. In the girls Lucy Davey was 6th, Hannah Lovett 10th. Well done to all who took on the tough course and pushed themselves hard.
Road Running
Charlotte Grieve won the Tadcaster 10 miles race that took place on Sunday. Charlotte won by about 100 metres in a time of 58.55. Josh Breen was just inside the hour with 59.42 with Jack Ford being just outside with 60.37. Dave Lancaster was 2nd vet 65 with 74.50.
13 runners from the club did parkrun over the weekend. There were first places for Lottie Langan (18.11) on the Knavesmire and Imogen Brown (20.50) at Dalby Forest. There were veteran age group wins for Dave Lancaster, Julie Mastrolonardo and Jon Blake with a junior age group win for Sebastian Brown.
