Weekly round up – w/e 27th October

The club had another great day at a very muddy Nunroyd Park in Guiseley as 43 runners took part in the 2nd race in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League. In the senior men’s race a fine debut from Floyd Ratcliffe in 4th place led the club to a dominant team win as the club packed 7 runners into the top 21 places. In the junior races the under 13 boys came 1st team with the boys team in the same age group coming 2nd. The only other age group to complete a team was the under 15 girls who came 2nd. Individually Daniel Campbell won the under 11 boys race with Joe O’Brien coming 3rd in the under 17 men’s race.

Charlotte Mason ran a personal best time of 36.17 in Sunday’s Leeds Abbey Dash with Alex Boynton running 38.32 which was a good effort just one week after running the York Marathon. Ed Dunn ran 40.19 at the Wistow 10k near Selby.

The poor weather on Saturday morning and Sunday’s race in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League meant that fewer of our members did parkrun on Saturday. Gianluca Mastrolonardo finally won at Dalby Forest as he ran 17.41. Lucy Holland also had a first place at York with 21.39. The Keens were again to the fore at Easingwold as William came 3rd in 20.52 with Kaitlin 2nd in 24.42. None of our members ran the York Junior parkrun on Sunday.
