Congratulations to 11 of our athletes who won medals at the Northern Athletics U17,U15,U13 Championships that took place at Hull this weekend.
Gold: Jessica Robertson-Dover U17 1500m Steeplechase, Freya Vidal U15 200m and Esme Pounder U15 75m Hurdles
Silver: Emily Maude U15 75m Hurdles & Long Jump and Sophie Williams U13 Long Jump
Bronze: Rosie Hickling U17 80m Hurdles, Frances Hogg U17 300m, Isaac Henson U17 400m Hurdles, Katarina Savkovic U15 300m, Joshua Sandwell U15 800m, Esme Pounder U15 Long Jump, Kathryn Clague U15 Shot Putt
Five of our athletes ran in the lastest British Milers Club meeting at Leeds last Monday. Joe O’Brien ran a PB of 3.51.07 in the 1500m whilst Gianluca Mastrolonardo (9.01.52) and James Tucker (9.05.73) ran PBs in the 3000m. Izzi O’Brien ran 4.45.38 in the 1500m whilst Charlotte Mason ran 10.01.40 in the 3000m.
Off Track Distance Races
Angus McMillan ran the joint fastest leg in the Inter Area Relays as he ran 9.04 for the 2 mile leg. Angus was representing the North in this race.
Tommy Shaw won the 3k junior race at the Newcastle Quayside in a time of 9.09. Steve Asquith ran 16.44 and Katarina Bonner did 19.46 over 5k at the same event.
18 of our members took part in parkrun events over the weekend. Katy Wood again won the Leeds Hyde Park event in 17.23. James Tucker won the Wetherby parkrun in 17.08 which was part of a much longer run that he was doing on Saturday morning. At Easingwold Kaitlin Keens came 2nd in 22.20 whilst her brother William came 3rd in 18.33. At the York Junior Parkrun on Sunday morning Daniel Campbell came 1st in 6.59 with Isaac Morris coming 2nd in 7.21.
