Scott Lincoln came 16th in the World Indoor Athletics Championships that were held in Belgrade over the weekend with a best throw of 19.65m.
Scott qualified for the World Indoor Championships by throwing 20.73m at the BoXX United Manchester World Indoors Tour and relished taking on the world’s best shot putters in Belgrade.
Scott is planning to take a week off to recover from the World Indoor Championships before preparing for a big outdoor season that includes the World, European and Commonwealth Championships.
Well done Scott everyone at the club is proud that you represented your country at the World Indoor Championships.
Off track distance races
The club had 14 runners taking part in the English Schools Cross Country Championships that took place in Kent yesterday.
Outstanding performances from Isaac Stabler 4th place in the Junior Boy’s race and Lottie Langan 5th place in the Intermediate girl’s race meant that they have both both selected to run for England in next week’s SIAB cross country event.

Senior Girls: Izzi O’Brien 71st, Lucy Gaskin 195th and Tierney Walsh 237th
Intermediate Boys; Lucas Stabler 66th and Isaac Bastow 266th
Intermediate Girls: Lottie Langan 5th, Amy Kennedy 81st, Jessica Robertson-Dover 179th and Katarina Savkovic 224th
Junior Boys: Isaac Stabler 4th and William Keens 61st
Junior Girls: Sophie Robertson-Dover 146th
The club had 17 runners doing parkrun at the weekend. James Tucker came 3rd on the Knavesmire in 16.04 whilst Therese Jansson was the fastest female parkrunner from the club in 21.33. Bethany Ellerker came 1st in the York junior parkrun in 9.09.
