Seniors and school years 12 and 13 – Distance running
There is no waiting list for senior distance runners or for junior distance runners in school years 12 and 13.
The membership prices for senior distance runners are as follows:
Full membership (includes free use of the track) – £130
University membership (includes free use of the track) – £50
Off Track membership – £35.
Off track members can use the track but must pay a one off track fee of £2.50 per session.
2nd claim members can get a £20 reduction on membership fees because their England Athletics registration will be paid by their 1st claim club.
Seniors and school years 12 and 13 – Sprints, throws, jumps and multi events
For seniors, availability depends on event interest and of a standard that will fit into existing groups. For training groups that are full, we will consider athletes who are moving to the York area and who are members of a club in their previous home town, with a record of competing. We can also provide help with the club transfer process for those wishing to transfer from another club.
School years 8 to 11 – Distance running (800m, 1500m and cross country running)
It is quicker for distance runners in school years 8 to 11 to join the club, with some background of distance running at parkrun or at school being helpful. Even if we can’t take into club training immediately, we may be able to help finding local cross country and open track races. Some junior distance runners in school years 10 and 11 may be accepted into the senior distance running group rather than the junior one if they have sufficient experience of training and racing.
School years 8 to 11 – Multi Event (Sprints, throws, jumps and multi events)
There is very little availability for School Year 8 to 11 in this group with a waiting list in operation. As with seniors, we will consider junior athletes who are moving to the York area and who are members of a club in their previous home town, with a record of competing. We can also provide help with the club transfer process for those wishing to transfer from another club.
School years 6 and 7
The waiting list in these year groups is long, but there are ages we are taking some in. Athletes have to attend at least two introductory/one-off sessions to show interest before being considered for membership. There are about 40 in each school year group currently waiting.
School year 5
We do not take in members in school year 5, but record their details for when they become Year 6. We will add names to the list (apply to secretary.coyac@hotmail.co.uk), and once on the list you will receive information about one-off events that might interest you.
School year 4 and younger We do not record names or parental contact details for children in school year 4 and younger.
